When you look up Project Avocado online, the first page that comes up on the Google (for now…) is a wikipedia page dedicated to a former Presidential authorization. Essentially, it gave great power to U.S. military combat commanders to create task forces for any purpose and draw resources from any military unit. It gave these “commanders unprecedented power to conduct unconventional warfare throughout the world.”
“But I thought this was a health and fitness website…” I would be thinking the same thing.
This is the place where we will take unconventional steps to fight those habits that are setting us back and make you the commander of your health.
Now, that was just a convenient connection. By no means am I a military history buff. I just love avocados.
Project Avocado is where SUSTAINABLE weight loss, health, and fitness for life will be the focus.

My name is Adam and I started this site because it is something I wish I could have turned to when I wanted to transform my health. I was an athlete growing up, played baseball in college, and have two degrees in the health/fitness/sports areas and yet I still didn’t have the best grasp of what healthy habits looked like. You can get away with a lot of things when you are active and young. That morning cereal seemed so healthy at the time.
After I graduated and stopped playing sports competitively, I was lost. There was no one telling me what to do or holding me accountable to my workouts. You inevitably become more sedentary and sit on your butt more hours than you could imagine. The combination of less activity, more sitting, and zero confidence in the kitchen led me to put on over 30lbs of fast food weight.
I knew things needed to change and I hit the internet for answers. EVERYONE has a plan/diet/”10 minute workout and you’ll lose 100lbs without breaking a sweat!” I became paralyzed with information overload. I would get motivated, start, go hard for a couple weeks and see no change. Then I would quit and go back to my old ways.
I put all my faith in these plans and I would blame them for failing me. Sound familiar?
This is the place for those who have had a similar experience. This is the place to rebound into your picture of health.
After a couple years of this yo-yo-ing. I just focused on eating healthier. I prepared and cooked my own meals.
This one change turned my life around.
Those 30lbs are long gone and I have established many other healthy habits that serve me. I look and feel better than ever. I have a passion for building these habits and hope to help pass on anything that will be of value.
